I am a Welsh freelance writer, editor, and researcher based in London, covering art, design, film, technology, and music, with a special interest in photography and visual culture. My writing has been published by The Guardian, CNN, Dazed, AnOther, British Journal of Photography, Elephant, and Creative Review, where I was news editor until 2025.
Interview features include photographers Tyler Mitchell, Jamie Hawkesworth, Nigel Shafran, Liz Johnson Artur, and Alec Soth, filmmaker Gus Van Sant, Oscar-winning production designer Shona Heath, and music artists Max Cooper and Oliver Sim.
Research is another passion of mine. Recent projects include identifying and forecasting visual and cultural trends for a global streaming platform, and giving a conference talk on the relationship between image-making and unrest in the age of AI.
I recently won the C/O Berlin Talent Award in the Theorist category, Europe's only award of its kind. As part of the prize, I researched and wrote an original essay and an artist interview dealing with photography, computer vision, and facial recognition, exploring how these relate to themes such as spirituality and identity. The texts have been published in an artist monograph in conjunction with an exhibition held at C/O Berlin in 2026.
Artists and agencies have commissioned me to contribute to books, exhibition texts, and artist bios, and I have worked as an editor across digital and print media. I have also participated in talks, panel hosting, and exhibition tours, and I have sat on judging panels for the Vintage Classics animation prize and the Creative Review Photography Annual showcase.
I have previously worked with D&AD, The Photographers' Gallery, BuildHollywood, Mercedes-Benz, and the University of Westminster, and I am open to new commissions and collaborations.
